Final video Sci-Fi Production Group Project 13

Week 13

Group Project

I ended up using the materials in Maya. I downloaded the guide for best rendering results and followed the instructions.

I followed the instructions for using the normal map.

Before rendering, I watched the animation of my video in Adobe Premiere Pro. I wanted to make sure it would look good and check before rendering to avoid a second render if something didn’t look right.

Before I started rendering, I checked some instructions about the best result of rendering.

Before I started rendering, I went through some instructions on how best to render. I understand that sometimes more pixels make for better overall quality.

Sci-Fi Production_Group Project_Matte Painting_Nuke_Homework 10

Week 10

The task is to remove the green screen and replace it with a background

I will need the roto to remove the tracking markers.

I  merged it with the image.

To maintain the 3D atmosphere, we need to project on picture.

Without projection, the image has no depth, so it is only 2D.

I tracked the points.

Since I removed the background of the green screen, the color of the t-shirt also changed.

I fixed this by using the auto despill and color correction nodes.

Sci-Fi Production Group Project 9

Week 9

I applied textures from Adobe Substance in Maya.

I worked on the other two assets, the shelf and the engine, with geometry and UV in Maya.

It has to be cut because there will be 2 different surfaces – iron and plastic.

I reopened the Substance painter for the correct textures for the other 2 assets.

I corrected geo in UV.

Sci-Fi Production Group Project 8

Week 8

I will use this as a reference.

I tried using a plastic texture in Maya. I checked with a quick render. It’s okay, but not great. I’ll try another option, the Adobe Substance 3D painter.

I used the Substance 3D Community Asset for the corresponding textures.

I need to increase the roughness.

I exported all textures to Maya.

Group instruction
another piece of modeling

The group asked me to design a machine behind the shelves to collect human test tubes.

Sci-Fi Production Group Project 6

Week 6

As a final step, the group wants the Alien tubes to be placed on a series of shelves so they will actually be visible. I was asked to model these shelves.

Instructions from the group.

Yes, but there also all of the rest of the 3D assets which have to fit in the scene, including tables, desks, computers, liquid, drone, window, and spaceship in the background which all take a lot of space in the shot. If you come up with a previsualization that can fit all of these items in with what u thought of and show it to the group then sure
its a cool concept but simply there isn’t a huge amount of space for everyone to put stuff

I collected a lot of information about the substance painter .

Iron

I found these tutorials very helpful.

As the next step, I started working on UV and texture.

I found a lot of useful information on this site.
